Kidnappers abducted professor in MAUTECH YOLA

Gunmen yesterday kidnapped Allan Mamman Kadams, a professor with the  Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola.

The kidnappers reportedly invaded his residence located at the Federal Housing Estate on the outskirts of Yola around 2.00am clock.

This is coming two weeks after the kidnap of another lecturer ‎in the university, Professor Ibrahim Adamu Zata, whose family reportedly paid N2 million to secure his release.

The registrar of the university, Halima Bala Muhammmad told journalists that the security unit of the institution was being  updated by Kadams’ family.

Police spokesperson in Adamawa State, S.P. Othman Abubakar, said the command had commenced search for the kidnapped professor after receiving a complaint on the incident.

“We have received the report on the kidnapping case of the lecturer of MAUTECH Yola and our men are on top of the situation using all avenues to ensure that the professor is rescued unharmed and on time”, Othman stated.

Abubakar added that the command had paraded  seven kidnappers who had been terrorising Wuro-jabbe and Vuno-Killang areas in the state capital.
