Clergy urges FG to create religious Comparative institute studies

Overseer Christ and Evangelical Intercessory and life Intervention‎, Pastor Yohana Buru  has  called for the creation of institutes of comparative studies across the country to  prompt religious tolerance among Nigerians.

He said the institute if created will also teach forgiveness, reduce blasphemy tendencies and teach harmony between Muslims and Christians in the country.

The pastor stated this when he received a traditional title holder Sarkin Yamma Potiskum, Yobe state,  Gidado Ibrahim who paid him a courtesy visit over the unrest that occurred in ‎Kaduna last week.

Pastor Buru noted that there are more than 6,000 religions globally, most of which are different from the literate Abrahamic religions such as (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) that many people think of when they hear the word “religion”.

“In order to make statements or generalisations about religion, the concept of religion, rather than a specific religion or group of religions, we need to engage in comparative study of religions so as to reduce ethno-religious attacks and blasphemy,” he added

Pastor Buru appealed to other religious leaders to be committed in preaching the world of God, while urging them to equally  pray for peace stability of the country

The Sarking Yamma Gidado Ibrahim in his remarks,  called on religious leaders across the country to double effort in praying for peace stability of the country.
