Schools in Bayelsa resumes today after the Flood

The Bayelsa State Government has ordered public and private schools in the state to resume today few months after being shut owing to flooding.
The Commissioner for Education, Jonathan Obuebite, in a statement yesterday, issued the directive, asking all principals, head teachers, school proprietors, students and parents to resume the first term for the 2018/2019 session.
The commissioner said: “The state government, after intensive considerations, has approved that schools, both public and private should resume academic activities on Monday,  November 5, 2018.
“By this notice, the government has directed all principals, head teachers to work with leaders of  communities and commence proper cleaning of their schools and also take inventory of the facilities, environment, health and security situation of their schools to ensure that no child is exposed to an unhealthy environment or reptiles while in school.”
